Works considered to be of high literary value, often widely known, and thought to be of high quality, influential, profound, and of great cultural value. Some examples include Harper Lee’s “To Kill a Mockingbird”, Herman Melville’s “Moby Dick”, and novels by Jane Austin, Charles Dickens, and Charlotte and Emily Brontë.
